I have been trying to come up with an idea of something I could put in my large 16x14 frame--(and two coinciding 8x10's)--- that hang on my wall. They once contained 2 year old photos of me and my husband and I was really feeling the need for a change. After weeks of deliberation this is what I came up with.
Typography is a big thing right now--especially in terms of "subway art"--and I took that into consideration when trying to decide on what I should create to put in my frames. I had seen something similar to this before and thought it was such a cute idea. It's a list of "house rules"---which could obviously be done with many different sayings/rules--but I choose to use those of which I felt appropriate to our home.
This one has an olive/moss green background to match the rest of my decor in the living room but could easily be changed to suit any color scheme. If you're interested in a copy, shoot me an email! I think this would make a great gift or a nice little addition to your own house.

Tyson's Baptism Invite
I love how in recent years parents have chosen to send out invitations for their children's baptisms! I think it is such a fun idea, and of course a great opportunity to create a "keepsake" for such a special occasion.
Tami left the design for Tyson's baptism open for me to work with. My intent was to come up with a design that kept with the reverence of the occasion but was still up-to-date/modern, and held that "eight-year-old boy" feel--and I think the overall outcome was a success.
Congratulations on your decision to be baptized, Tyson! I hope are always able to remember your special day!
**Check back within the next two weeks for some fun cupcakes I am also making for the occasion!

2011 Valentines
This year my mom and I teamed up again to make Valentine treats for our coworkers. (You know...another excuse to make cute things....). This year we went for simple and gourmet-esque. We bought the monster-sized marshmallows (also known as Campire--if you haven't seen these, they are huge. Probably double the size of the traditional Jumbo marshmallows). We put them on a sucker stick, dipped them in chocolate and sprinkled them with valentine hearts. And of course, we had to incorporate an excuse to use the Cake Cricut so we cut out those large pink hearts from gum paste, bushed them with pearl dust and attached them to the bottom of the 'mallows. They were then topped off with some cute ribbon & a "hope your day is sweet" topper.

"Super Why" Children's Birthday Cake
This is a cake I did for Robyn (who, by the way, has her own blog and business she's building, I Am A Girly Tomboy). Her son is turning one year old and she wanted a cake based on the cartoon Super Why, who her little boy adores. I had never heard of Super Why (being kid-less and all, you know?) and so after a little bit of research and some photos/samples that Robyn sent to me, I went to work on the creation of the cake using gumpaste, food coloring and my new Cake Cricut!
For those of you also unfamiliar with Super Why, here is an action figure of him.
And...here is the cake I made. While I'm not pro, it's not too shabby for a newbie.

Feature: Cupcake Flower Arrangement
How cute is this!? I absolutely love it. I wish I could say that I made it, but this is actually just a "feature" post because I wanted to share.
I first saw a flower arrangement like this back in October when my grandma received one as a birthday gift from her friend. I hadn't seen them anywhere since & kind of forgot about it, but while looking for flowers for my mom's birthday this week I came across them at Ridley's Market here in Orem. What a cute and fun idea & great birthday gift-- I love the candle they've put on it, it definitely adds to the "cupcake".
