Cristie + RJ: The Wedding Announcement

While this post has been a while coming, I am no less excited to share it! As with most brides, Cristie wanted her invite to reflect her wedding color scheme of silve, blue & white--in conjunction with her & her fiance's love for BYU, of course! I think it's always fun for the couple to throw in some personality into their invitations.

After a few color re-arrangements we came up with the final design, and I absolutely love it. I particularly love the wording in which Cristie's son, Kole, announces the marriage of his mom, and they have included them in their photos. What a cute and fun way to make a child feel a part of their parent's special day!

Thanks so much for allowing me to add something to your special day Cristie! I wish you and RJ the best of luck & the happiness you deserve!

Baptism Invitation: Owen

I love doing baptism invitations! I think it is such a fun way to share and announce such a special day!

This is Owen's announcement. As always I was excited when Hayley, a good friend of mine, asked me to design the announcement for Owen's baptism. We re-vamped the initial color scheme a little and I love it! It think it gives a "grown man" feel but still has a reverent playfulness of a child--perfect for this type of occasion. (I also love his vest and tie, what a handsome guy!)

Thanks for letting me be a small part of your special day!

Graduation Announcement {Erika}

Erika was a pleasure to work with and when she came to me she had ideas in mind for what she wanted her announcement to be--including this fun color scheme! Who doesn't love pink & brown with a splash of green? I love the playful & spring/summer feel of this design & I think that mood is portrayed through the colors, the photos she provided me with, and the design itself.

Erika--Thanks for the opportunity to design your announcement, and I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!

Jessi + Trace : The Invitation

This is the latest wedding invitation that I have been working on for Jessi & her fiance Trace. I absolutely love the typography on this invite as well as the so-called "non-traditonal" wording format that they chose for it. I'm always up for & excited for doing something a little different from the norm when it's suggested!

While having two dark colors (black & purple) can be challenging through the design process, I think the white, purple, & black color scheme ultimately worked really well! And as it always does-- the little bit of black adds some elegance & sophistication to the design helping to balance the "fun" & typography seen on the upper half.

Best wishes to Jessi & Trace as they start their new journey together!

(*Stay tuned as I bravely attempt to fulfill their request to photograph their upcoming ceremony and reception!)

Ava: Baby Announcement

Meet Ava, my niece. Isn't she a cutie? I was thrilled when Jen, my sister in law, asked if I would design Ava's baby announcement. I loved the idea of incorporating a picture of big sister, Natalie, on the announcement along with the adorable red-head herself.

Hailey + Justin

Here is the wedding announcement I designed for my cousin & had mentioned in the previous post. I've been dying to share it! Hailey's wedding colors are pink and turquoise and she wanted a worn-vintage look for the announcement. I dulled down her wedding colors a tad and added a "dirty" edge to each side of the invite to look worn without being too over powering and grungy. The turquoise/teal damask added a touch of classy-vintage and texture. I really love the way these turned out and was glad have the opportunity to add a piece to Hailey's big day! Best of luck to you two in the future and best wishes for a wonderful wedding day!

Andrea + Tyler

This month has been booming for me as far as wedding invites go, and I was no-less than excited when Andrea asked me to design her wedding invite for her. I worked with Andrea for a few years at Work Care and was so glad to get to associate with her again. She asked for a 5x7 layout using her colors: black, white, and purple. I have always loved the black and white color scheme with a pop of accent color--it's simple, yet classic and elegant--and I love the purple Andrea chose for hers!

Thanks Andrea for allowing me to create a piece for your wedding! I wish you and Tyler the best as you start your life together---I'm so happy for you! :0)

Shaylee + Krieg

This is one of the few wedding invites I've been working on lately.

Shaylee requested the layout I did for Kellie & Brian's announcement, (seen printed here), and incorporated their colors which were a really dark purple, baby blue, & chocolate brown. I love when people have unique color schemes for their wedding to include in the announcement, it makes my part a lot of fun and helps bring about some creativity.

I think they turned out great and both Shaylee & Krieg were wonderful to work with, especially considering the whole design & printing process was done through long distance communication as they live down in Blanding. As always I was grateful for the designing opportunity and want wish them the best on their wedding day!

Susan's Bridal Shower Invite = Hello Nebraska!

I was super excited when I received a call from Gayle, a woman who had attended the last bridal shower that I designed an invite for, who wanted me to design an invite for a bridal shower that is to be held in Nebraska. That's right folks, Purple Paisley has ventured to Nebraska! Who would've thought? My most recent projects have all came about via word of mouth & I'm very grateful for those who are out there spreading the word!

Gayle told me the bride was using an aqua blue and Gerber daisies along with the colors associated with them & she wanted the invite to reflect that theme. I LOVE the way these turned out! I have had so much fun with bright & vivid colors lately.

Josh

Josh was torn between a blue or green background so we went with a little of both on his proofs. I loved the fact the he included a photo of himself as a kid on his announcement, I thought that was a fun idea & wished I had thought of that when I had mine done back in the day. :0) Thanks for letting me help out with your announcements Josh & best of luck to you in the future!

Curtis

When Curtis said he wanted to use bright greens, blues, oranges & yellows on his announcements I was super excited! It's not very often you get to play with such fun colors & they seemed to spark something fun & funky in the announcements without being too "in your face." I also really liked the idea that Curtis wanted to include on the announcement that he would be attending Snow College in the fall, I thought that was such a neat idea. Thanks for allowing me to do your announcements Curtis, and I wish you the best of luck as you move on and attend college this fall. Congrats!

McKenzie

McKenzie wanted a turquoise and black theme for her graduation announcement. I love that she chose to "showcase" a few of her senior year accomplishments through her photos she chose, such as her reign as Miss Santaquin and making the Payson High Dance Company team. Congrats McKenzie, on all of your accomplishments and your graduation! Best wishes and good luck as you head to Miss Utah this June, you're very talented and I know you'll do great! Thanks for the opportunity to design your announcement!

Kellie + Brian

Oh my! I've been so excited about this wedding invite, and it's been killing me while waiting to share it! Not only is it beautiful and unique, but it's for my best friend with whom I was pretty much conjoined at the hip with and love like a sister. I was so excited when Kellie asked me to design her invitation, and it was fun to get to be a part of her "special day" in some way. Her colors worked perfectly with the "outdoor-esque" theme she wanted to go for, yet still allowed for a touch of elegance. It may be hard to tell from these files (I will post a photo of the printed and folded invite soon), but I loved the uniqueness of the design, size and layout. She decided on a double sided tri-fold and to add a little pizazz we made the "Brian & Kellie" text hang out further than the front panel when folded. I also really liked that we put their registries on the back panel of the invite. Kellie wanted to incorporate them somehow without being overbearing and I think the back panel was a perfect place to do so.

Congratulations Kellie and Brian, I am so happy for you and wish you the best! Thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding!

Bridal Shower Invite

I was very excited when a lady I work with asked me to design an invitation for a bridal shower she was throwing for one of her neighbors/friend. She wanted the colors to match the wedding and was looking for something retro/vintage-style.

Alicia & Seth

Alicia and Seth were my latest wedding invitation clients, and they were so great to work with! When we met to discuss the details they knew exactly which photos they wanted to use and preferred what I consider to be a classic style layout (one larger photo and three smaller). They also wanted to incorporate their royal blue and lavender wedding colors on the invitation. I was excited to experiment a bit with the colors and found they worked so well together. I think the outcome was wonderful and am so glad they allowed me to design their invitation. Best wishes to you guys are you start your journey together!

Farewell Announcement

A good friend that I work with asked me if I would design a mission farewell announcement for her son that she could send out to her family and friends. I was really excited to help out with this project because 1. I think Julie is the best and 2. I've never done something like this before. Now, I realize it's not anything extremely different from a baby or graduation announcement, but it was a unique occasion and I was excited to take a shot at it. I think it turned great, I love the colors and the quote that was incorporated into the layout. Thanks Julie for the opportunity and good luck to you Morgan on your mission! 2009 Christmas Card

I love sending and receiving Christmas cards in the mail. I love it because it seems so "old fashioned" with all the technology today (blogging, email, facebook). How often do you really get a good, old, straight from the heart, piece of mail in your mailbox? Not often enough! I love the surprise of it all and it's become such a rare occasion. Here is the Christmas card I designed to send out this year for Brad and I.
